Being hungry is probably one of the worst things ever! And if you want to lose weight, starving yourself is not the answer!
Here are some top tips on how to quench your hunger!
1. Enjoy different foods, keep your lunches exciting and eat enough!
Vary your lunches where possible and eat on time, not when you are hungry. You will eat less this way.
2. Have breakfast
It really is the most important meal of the day. Porridge is a great source of slow-releasing carbohydrates, so it will keep you going until lunchtime. Add some fruit to make it more exciting or add some cinnamon. If you don't fancy that then check out some of my other recipes!
3. If you snack, snack well
Have raw vegetables and dips instead. A bit of cucumber and some humous dip is one of my favourite snacks. They're better for your health, and much kinder on the waistline too.
4. Swap white rice for brown
As it offers a slower release of carbohydrates. Brown rice will make you feel fuller for longer and is better for you.
5. Distract yourself
Next time your mind gets stuck on a certain food, distract yourself. Research shows that cravings only last about 5 minutes. Get distracted and end the urge to devour junk food.
6. Fruit is your friend
Fruit has no fat and is mostly water, so it will fill you up and wont leave you feeling bloated.
7. Sleep is also your friend
Getting to bed just 30 minutes earlier and waking up 30 minutes later than you normally do will keep you well rested for your work outs and you will find yourself making better food choices.
8. Keep that goal in mind
When you feel your willpower breaking, remember what your goal is and how far you have already come. Don't worry about the odd cheat day and don't beat yourself up.
9. Increase your metabolism
Doing 5 minutes each of sit-ups, burpees, squats or any form of core workouts will help build and maintain muscle mass. The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism will be, this will lead to your body burning more calories throughout the day.
Water is your god. Drink lots of it. Try and drink a pint of water before every meal, it will fill you up and that means you will eat less!
